Get swept away by the many worlds of Split Fiction, a co-op action-adventure from Hazelight, the studio behind It Takes Two and A Way Out. Mio and Zoe are contrasting writers: one writes science fiction while the other writes fantasy. After being connected to a machine designed to steal their creative ideas, they become trapped inside their own stories. To escape with their memories intact, they must learn to work together as they are thrown back and forth between spectacular sci-fi and fantasy worlds.
Split Fiction is designed entirely around cooperation between two players. Coordinate your actions and timing through split-screen gameplay and work together to overcome puzzles, battles and other challenges. With Friend's Pass, a friend can join you for free, while crossplay is supported between Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Every part of the adventure revolves around communication, teamwork and combining your different abilities.
Every new world introduces different mechanics, abilities and surprises. Escape a sun that is about to explode, challenge a monkey to a dance battle, perform tricks on a hoverboard, fight an evil cat and ride everything from a gravity bike to a sand shark. Platforming, stealth, puzzles and action constantly alternate as you jump between wildly different science-fiction and fantasy environments.
Mio and Zoe initially struggle to get along, but quickly become each other's only hope of escaping the machine. Together they encounter bizarre situations and travel through worlds created by their own wild imaginations. As their journey takes unexpected turns, they must learn to rely on one another and discover how important their growing friendship is if they want to overcome the challenges ahead.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version supports GameChat for live audio and video chat during online co-op, including live camera feeds integrated into the location indicator when displayed. GameShare also allows you to start a local co-op session across two Nintendo Switch 2 systems using a single copy of the game. Cross-gen GameShare additionally allows a local play session with a first-generation Nintendo Switch using just one copy of the game.
