In Judgment, you step into the role of Takayuki Yagami, a former lawyer who left his legal career behind and now works as a private detective. When a series of mysterious murders grips Kamurocho, Yagami sets out to uncover the truth. What begins as an investigation into several brutal crimes develops into a compelling crime thriller filled with secrets, corruption, loyalty and betrayal.
Judgment takes place in the same universe and familiar Kamurocho setting as the Yakuza series, but tells a completely standalone story with a new cast of main characters. Yagami is a former lawyer who abandoned his career after an important case ended tragically. Now working as a private detective, he uses his legal knowledge, fighting skills and sharp instincts to uncover Kamurocho's most dangerous secrets.
Use Yagami's detective skills to search for clues, collect evidence and follow suspects. Question witnesses, investigate crime scenes, chase people through the streets and use stealth to get closer to the truth without being detected. Detective work is combined with exploration and conversations, allowing you to gradually piece together a complex mystery.
When an investigation turns into a confrontation, Yagami can rely on his extensive fighting skills. Switch between different fighting styles and use fast combinations, evasive manoeuvres and powerful attacks to defeat groups of criminals. The dynamic combat is an important part of the adventure, combining the familiar action of the Yakuza series with Yagami's own acrobatic fighting style.
Explore the neon-lit streets, shops and dark alleyways of Kamurocho while working on the main investigation and discovering a variety of side stories. Alongside detective work and combat, there are numerous activities and minigames to enjoy. This makes the city more than just the setting for your investigation, turning it into a lively world where something new can be discovered around almost every corner.
