Enter the tropical paradise of Yara, where dictator Antón Castillo rules alongside his son Diego. Castillo is determined to restore his nation to its former glory at any cost and ruthlessly oppresses his own people to achieve his goal. Tensions continue to rise and resistance against his regime is growing throughout the island. A revolution is coming.
Play as former soldier Dani Rojas, who can be played as either male or female. Dani is determined to escape Antón Castillo's regime and flee to the United States. When Dani reaches a boat preparing to leave for the US, Diego, the son of El Presidente, is also discovered on board. Castillo intercepts the boat to retrieve his son, after which the remaining passengers come under fire. Dani narrowly survives and washes ashore on an island where the Libertad guerrilla movement is based.
The leaders of Libertad promise to help Dani secure a boat to Florida in exchange for assistance in their fight against Castillo. When the opportunity to finally leave Yara arrives, Dani instead decides to join Libertad. Use an extensive arsenal of weapons, improvised equipment and guerrilla tactics to fight Castillo's army and help the resistance grow stronger throughout Yara.
Explore a vast open world filled with tropical jungles, beaches, villages and cities as you fight against the regime. Work alongside Libertad's guerrilla fighters, undertake dangerous missions and use everything at your disposal to defeat Castillo's forces. Follow Dani's bloody struggle and help free Yara from its ruthless oppression.
